Throughout the four-day Presidents Day weekend, Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumadia hopes to gross at least $110 million domestically, including $95 million each of the first three days. The film is expected to earn between $100 million and $105 million for the three days, and for the four, between $115 million and $120 million, according to more optimistic estimate agencies.
Even though 2023 has only been going for six weeks, the Marvel and Disney film will undoubtedly have the best box office debut of the year thus far and top the charts over the holiday weekend. The third installment of the understated superhero franchise, Quantumania, is also the 31st film in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
The first Ant-Man had the lowest domestic start of any MCU film in 2015, opening at $57.2 million and earning $519.3 million worldwide. Three years later, the sequel, Ant-Man, and the Wasp opened to $75.8 million in North America before reaching its global peak of $622.7 million.
A three-day domestic debut of $95 million for the most recent Ant-Man would represent a 25% increase over the opening weekend of the second movie.
Paul Rudd and Evangeline Lily are back together with filmmaker Peyton Reed in Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania. Bill Murray, Katy O’Brian, Michael Douglas, Michelle Pfeiffer, Jonathan Majors, Kathryn Newton, William Jackson Harper, James Cutler, and David Dastmalchian are also included in the cast.
Ant-Man 3’s global opening weekend potential ranges from $130 million to $190 million. Since Avengers: Endgame in 2019 (Black Panther: Wakanda Forever was ultimately released in the Middle Kingdom earlier this month, although by that point was readily available digitally), it is the first Marvel and Disney film to receive a day-and-date release in China.

In China, the first Ant-Man made a total of $105 million, and the second Ant-Man made a total of $122.2 million.
Following the success of Avatar: The Way of Water and, more recently, a 3D remastered edition of Titanic, Ant-Man 3 is making a significant 3D push. A rise in the mid-to-high teens for Quantumania is possible due to the format upcharge in North America.
