The MCU’s Phase 4 ends with Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, while Phase 5 will begin in 2023 with Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania. As of November 2019, Peyton Reed has been contracted to helm the show’s third episode and wrap up the plot of the titular small-but-mighty hero.
After Jon Watts’ work on the Spider-Man films, Reed will be the only director in the MCU to finish a trilogy. The 31st Marvel movie is slated to be an epic entry into this next chapter for the character and the entire cinematic universe, even though it is not yet known whether this will be Ant-final Man’s outing.
Amid all the extreme or cosmic action in the other flicks, the underappreciated Ant-Man series has offered some comic relief. Additionally, it was a crucial foundational element that paved the way for the time-traveling scenes in Avengers: Endgame.
Quantumania is set to create another ripple effect for this next phase after Kevin Feige stated during San Diego Comic-Con that the film is “a direct line to…[Avengers:] Kang Dynasty”. It’s more than appropriate for Quantumania to launch Phase 5 given that the Multiverse has assumed center stage following Loki and Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness.
Here is a handy summary of all the current information about the upcoming Ant-Man movie in preparation for its debut early next year.

Ant Man and the Wasp Quantumania Release Date
The start of the upcoming year’s film schedule will be marked with the release of the third Ant-Man movie on February 17, 2023. The date has changed a bit after being temporarily moved to July 28, 2023.
However, because Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania was further along in the production process, the movie later switched dates with The Marvels. The movie clocks in at 125 minutes, or two hours and five minutes, making it the longest Ant-Man movie to date.

Watch the Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania Trailer
On October 24, 2022, Marvel released the long-awaited trailer. The teaser opens with Paul Rudd’s Scott Lang basking in his newfound fame and notoriety following the events of Avengers: Endgame, set to Elton John’s “Goodbye, Yellow Brick Road.”
The next scene features Scott and Hope’s (Evangeline Lilly) family experimenting in a lab with a technology that appears to have the ability to send a signal to the Quantum Realm. However, Janet Van Dyne (Michelle Pfeiffer) has doubts and requests that it be switched off, only for the device to open up and draw everyone into the secret dimension.
The teaser gives the impression that the third movie will likely spend most of its time in the Quantum Realm, although it was only briefly addressed and barely explored in the first two movies. The family will cooperate in trying and discovering a path back home between a secret constructed city and a society of people who appear to have survived in the Quantum Realm (including the first glance of Bill Murray’s character).
The big mic-drop in the teaser is Kang the Conqueror, played by Jonathan Majors, who crosses paths with Scott and is almost sure to give him problems. Recently, during Brazil’s Comic-Con Experience, we also saw brand-new movie footage that focused more on Scott, his development, and his relationship with his daughter.
Additionally, it previews the next showdown between Ant-Man and Kang, and we can’t wait!
