Cadet Hunter Brown Death: A cadet at the United States Air Force Academy died on Monday due to a “medical issue,” according to an official statement.

A health issue struck 21-year-old Air Force football offensive lineman Hunter Brown as he walked from his dorm to his first class of the day.

According to the academy, emergency personnel tried to save Brown’s life but were unable to. Lt. Gen. Richard M. Clark, superintendent of the U.S. Air Force Academy, said in a statement, “The entire U.S. Air Force Academy mourns his loss, and our hearts and condolences are with his family, his squadron, and everyone who was touched by this great young man.”

A native of Lake Charles, Louisiana, Brown studied administration and French at university before being deployed to the 16th Cadet Squadron. He also played a key role in the two consecutive championship runs of the Falcons football club.

In May of 2021, he graduated from the preparatory school of the United States Air Force Academy. Head football coach Troy Calhoun said in a school statement announcing Brown’s death, “Hunter’s presence in the lives of our players, coaches, and the entire Academy community has been a tremendous blessing. Having him as a player or a teammate was a delight for any coach.”

No one worked harder or more selflessly for the benefit of others than Hunter,” he elaborated. “Candyce and Dustin raised an amazing kid that improved all of our lives. We’re thinking about Hunter and his amazing family and sending all our love their way.”

Brown’s passing comes a week after Damar Hamlin, a safety for the Buffalo Bills, collapsed and died during the team’s game against the Cincinnati Bengals on Monday Night Football.

The club announced on Wednesday that Hamlin had been released from the hospital. Earlier in the week, he was moved from UC Health in Cincinnati to Buffalo General.
