Clone High Premise

The setting of Clone High is an American high school where a covert government organization called the Secret Board of Shadowy Figures is conducting a massive military experiment.

Every student at the school is a clone of a famous person from history. These clones were made in the 1980s so the US military could use their unique skills and knowledge.

Clone High Season 2

Cinnamon J. Scudworth, the high school principal, secretly works against the board’s plans to carry out his ideas for the clones. Scudworth wants to use the clones to create “Cloney Island,” an amusement park based on clones, which is less evil than the board’s plans.

In the pilot episode “Escape to Beer Mountain: A Rope of Sand,” Mr. Butlertron—a parody of Mr. Belvedere—makes appearances as a robot butler, vice principal, and dehumidifier. He is programmed to address everyone as “Wesley” and speak in three different intonations, with the “high” pitch only appearing once.

Clone High Production

Miller came up with the idea for the program when he was still in college. At first, he thought that the clones would-be students. The series was first conceptualized in 2000 as Clone High School, USA!, and has now undergone a name change. Touchstone Television oversaw production.

After hearing the idea, Fox Broadcasting Company was the first to purchase the show, but they ultimately decided against ordering a whole series. As a result of all the famous personalities featured on the show, Miller claimed that it was the “easiest pitch ever.”

Fox declined to purchase the rights to the program, so MTV did so in May 2001. Even though the characters kept their physical traits and looks, the original designs for all of them were very different from what they would become in the end. Each program received an allocation of about $750,000.

Clone High Themes and Style

Most of the humor in the show comes from how different the clones’ values and backgrounds are from those of the historical figures from whom they are descended, even though the clones have many of the same traits as their ancestors.

Gandhi is often portrayed as a crazy jerk with a good heart whose biggest wish is to be loved by everyone around him. This is in contrast to the fact that he is known for being peaceful and not using violence. Abe Lincoln is depicted as indecisive and weak, much like the president with whom he shares DNA.

Even worse, all of the clones are sent to foster unsuitable homes. Gandhi was raised by a traditional Jewish-American couple, while an interracial gay couple raised John F. Kennedy. Toots, on the other hand, is an old blind singer who sounds like Ray Charles. Toots is Joan’s “foster grandpa.”
