Diablo 3 Season 28 is as unavoidable as Diablo’s return. Season 27 of the game will start to wind down soon, and Season 28 will begin to struggle out of the Burning Hells.

It pays to be ready for Diablo’s upcoming attack, even if there is still a significant amount of Season 27 left before Season 28 starts to take shape. So, now that we know when Season 27 is likely to end when Season 28 will begin, and what the potential next theme is, here it is:

When Does Diablo 3 Season 28 Start?

Diablo 3 Season 28’s precise release date is not yet known. The start of Season 27 was on August 26, 2022. The most recent season to be 15 weeks and a few days long was Season 23, while Season 26 lasted 18 weeks. Because of this, it is currently impossible to know precisely when Diablo 3 Season 28 will come out.

However, given that the PTR for the 2.7.5 update starts on January 31, we anticipate that the release date for Diablo 3 Season 28 won’t be too far behind, perhaps just a few weeks. Seasons of Diablo usually come to a close on a Sunday and always begin on a Friday.

Diablo 3 Season 28 Theme

The 28th season of Diablo 3 will have the theme “rites of sanctuary” and feature a brand-new skill tree that is unlike anything else we’ve seen in the game. The 26 seals and three legendary powers in this skill tree are accessible to all classes. The Altar of Rites, located in the Festering Woods next to Tristram, unlocks each Seal.

Starting at level 1, players will progress along the skill tree, unlocking the subsequent 25 Seals until they have accessed every Rite of Sanctuary. For the duration of the season, each Seal will grant access to a unique perk that the player can employ to strengthen their character.

What is in Diablo 3 Season 28?

It is essentially a simplified version of Diablo 4’s branching skill tree, in which players can invest resources to acquire Seals that will allow them to access various seasonal benefits. Similar in operation, the Potions give players enhancements for their health vials.

These contain potions that, among other things, lower the amount of damage foes do, acquire arbitrary shrine or pylon effects, and bestow a momentary boost on one of three stats. They are challenging to obtain from the Altar of Rites, but they seem to be worth the trouble.

One of the most potent effects in the Altar of Rites is a second primal item that is given a crude item drops anytime, although it will be challenging to get due to the number of Seals that come before it. Those who complete the Altar of Rites tree can also obtain a cosmetic item called the Wings of Terror.

We recommend you unlock all Seals and Potions within the Altar of Rites, not only to inspire terror within your foes, but also to piece together the fragments of Sanctuary’s past.”

Diablo 3 Season 28 Cosmetic Rewards

For players who might have missed them the first time or weren’t playing then, Blizzard started reintroducing cosmetic rewards from previous seasons in Season 17. This implies that the Season 16 aesthetic awards are returning for Season 28.
