Domain name sells for 400,000 dollars

Last year, the money.com.au domain name was sold, and reported this week. One of the biggest reported sale to date of a .au domain name, selling for A$400,000 (US$280,320) in a private sale.

Cooper Mills Lawyers announced the sale on their blog on Thursday. Shaun McGowan, who is launching a new online finance business offering both business and car loans bought it.

The previous largest .com.au sale was fetch.com.au which sold for A$132,000 through DBR (Domain Broker Australia) in 2017. The domain cruises.com.au sold for A$110,000 through dTrade in September 2013. poker.com.au sold $100,000 through Moniker/SnapNames in 2011 according to the Domain Name Journal.
