Since Triple H took over as WWE’s Head of Creative, the 24/7 Title has vanished from relevance, and characters like Reggie, Akira Tozawa, Dana Brooke, Tamina, and R-Truth have hardly been mentioned on WWE television.
Since Brooke started her seventh reign as champion on July 18, the championship that would frequently and frequently changed hands-on “WWE Raw” has not been defended on television.
While the title’s future is still unknown, it seems like things for Reggie, the longest-reigning 24/7 Champion in WWE history, may be improving. The encounter between Reggie and Shelton Benjamin on last week’s “Main Event” was not initially scheduled.
Still, Triple H and the company decided to bring the former Cirque du Soleil performer back into the ring at the last minute. Benjamin was supposed to wrestle Cedric Alexander in the initial plan. Reggie had not competed in the ring since his encounter with Tozawa on the “Main Event” taping on July 18. The match was his first opportunity to do so.
According to rumors, Reggie’s performance was appreciated by former WWE Chairman & CEO Vince McMahon, as shown by Reggie holding the 24/7 Title for a record 112 days in 2017. It should be noted that while the 24/7 Title has been absent from television shows recently, it has recently been defended at multiple WWE live events, especially during WWE’s tour of Canada last month.
We may soon discover more about the 24/7 title’s future and Triple H’s plans for Reggie & Co. because the new seasons of “Raw” and “SmackDown” are scheduled to premiere next month. The WWE Draft will reportedly occur after WrestleMania 39, not in October as previously anticipated.
