Did God Play a Role in Guiding Gino Jennings to Found a Church?
Gino Jennings, who was born on February 10, 1963, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, started his ministry at a young age, reading the Bible for his uncle at church. By the time he was thirteen years old, he had already become a child preacher. While still a teenager, Jennings asserted that, following a time of fasting and prayer, God visited him, guiding him to found the First Church of Our Lord Jesus Christ, Inc.
His 1984 basement church, the First Church of Our Lord Jesus Christ, Inc., flourished as a result of its teachings on inner and outward holiness, on the necessity of baptism with the Holy Spirit in addition to the name-only baptism of Jesus, and on the required evidence of glossolalia, all of which are common teachings among Oneness Pentecostals and others traceable to the Holiness movement. Several churches across the US and the world were part of Jennings’ First Church of Our Lord Jesus Christ, Inc. by 2016, which had its headquarters in Philadelphia.
