Heels Season 2 Release Date

One of the biggest television surprises of the year has been “Heels.” Stephen Amell and Alexander Ludwig play two brothers who compete in their father’s wrestling organization in Georgia and deal with all the turmoil that results in Starz’s wrestling-themed drama, which was written by “Loki” head writer Michael Waldron.

The program received overwhelmingly positive reviews, earning a 96% Fresh certification on Rotten Tomatoes. According to Deadline, it was also promptly renewed for Season 2. Along with other shows like the historical romance “Outlander” and the follow-up series “Power Book II: Ghost,” Starz has discovered another blockbuster.

Maybe this series will be given some Emmy consideration when the time comes next year. Since the October 10, 2021, airing of the Season 1 finale, viewers have been screaming for more of the Spade family’s story. However, Stephen Amell, the series’ star, a lifelong wrestling enthusiast, and occasional wrestler, insists that season two of “Heels” would debut in either the first or second quarter of 2023 in an interview with TV Line. Amell said:

“Heels is coming out eventually,”

What’s behind the delay? According to Amell, Starz and Lions Gate Entertainment, which has owned the network since 2016, have split. Amell said:

“They are now in the process of, as best I understand it ‘untangling’ that partnership,”

“As they are untangling everything, they are figuring out which assets belong to whom. So as a result, we wrapped filming [Season 2] on the first of July and we don’t have a premiere date, let alone a trailer, let alone an indication of Season 3.”

Amell expressed optimism about “Heels” season 3’s chances even though it was not yet assured. He believes that season 2 was of a high caliber. Amell said:

“I know there are meetings that are starting to happen about writing for Season 3,”

“But in the normal order of things, we would have more information than we do right now.

“I would be worried if I didn’t think the season was spectacular, and I think the season is spectacular. It’s way better. More story, more scope… And it also felt more like a cohesive season because we actually shot it in order and were subject to COVID ‘hiccups’ but not COVID catastrophes.”
