This March 3, 2023, Amazon Prime Video will debut Daisy Jones And The Six, based on Taylor Jenkins Reid’s novel of the same name. The miniseries follows the antics of the lead band as they became famous in the 1970s.
Daisy Jones And The Six have several remarkable similarities to Fleetwood Mac, including love triangles and arguments about the band’s artistic direction. But is Daisy Jones and the Six an accurate portrayal of events?

Is Daisy Jones and the Six Based on a True Story?
Taylor Jenkins: No, Reid did not use a factual story as the basis for Daisy Jones And The Six. Even though Reid was inspired by Fleetwood Mac, the band and the story are both wholly made up.
The author acknowledged that a stage interaction between Lindsey Buckingham and Stevie Nicks of Fleetwood Mac inspired her. Former bandmates and lovers Nicks and Buckingham got back together in 1997 for The Dance, an MTV concert to celebrate the 20th anniversary of their famous album Rumours.
In Burbank, California’s Warner Brothers Studios served as the venue. Reid was captivated by the interplay between Nicks and Buckingham as he watched the performance. Reid said:
“I just kept coming back to that moment when Lindsey watched Stevie sing Landslide,”

Daisy Jones and the Six Are a Real Band
The only way Taylor Jenkins Reid’s characters have come to life for readers of her books is in their imaginations. Yet they are now developing into a legitimate band. This spring, their narrative will be adapted for Amazon Prime Video, and a whole album of their songs will be released on Friday, March 3.

Daisy Jones’s Cast Became True Musicians During the Show
Daisy Jones And The Six’s casting was always a challenging task. There were strong opinions about who would be the best fit to bring these adored characters—who already feel so genuine to book fans—to life. They had to be great musicians as well as convincing actors.

Fortunately, the Daisy Jones cast contained some real jewels. They enlisted musicians, including touring musician and member of the rock dynasty Riley Keough, Sam Claflin, who has prior singing expertise, and Riley Keough. Even though the cast needed more singing instruction, they were perfect in their portrayal of expert musicians.
