From 1991 to 1994, Kelly was the head coach of the Buffalo Bills. During that time, the team went to the Super Bowl four times in a row. In his 11-year career, he led a fast offense and set franchise marks with 2,874 completions out of 4,779 attempts, 35,467 yards, and 237 touchdowns.

Who is Jim Kelly?

James Edward Kelly was born in the United States on February 14, 1960. He played quarterback in the NFL for 11 seasons with the Buffalo Bills. He also played for the Houston Gamblers in the USFL for two years. Kelly was really good in college too, and he was named the Most Valuable Offensive Player in the 1981 Peach Bowl when he played for the University of Miami Hurricanes football team.

The Bills chose Kelly as the 14th pick in the first round of the 1983 NFL Draft. But instead of joining the Bills right away, he played with the Gamblers. He started playing for the Buffalo Bills in 1986 after the USFL stopped. Kelly was a big part of a powerful scoring strategy in the NFL called the “K-Gun” style.

This style used fast plays without pauses and special formations. He was a main player when the Bills went to four Super Bowls in a row from 1990 to 1993, but sadly, they didn’t win any of them. He was really good and was picked for the All-Pro team in 1991, and he was chosen for five Pro Bowls.

The Bills respected him a lot and retired his jersey number along with Thurman Thomas and Bruce Smith. Kelly was so good that he got into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 2002.

Kelly was born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, but she grew up mostly in a town called East Brady, which is about 60 miles away. When Kelly was in high school at East Brady, he did really well in football. He threw the ball for 3,915 yards, made 44 touchdowns, and only got one interception.

Because of this, he got named to the all-state team. After finishing high school, Kelly joined the Big 33 Football Classic. Kelly wasn’t just good at football, but also at basketball. He scored more than 1,000 points and even had six games where he scored 30 or more points.

In his last year of high school, he averaged 23 points and 20 rebounds in basketball. His basketball skills helped his team get to the quarterfinals of the Pennsylvania Class ‘A’ state tournament.
