Just days before unsettling accusations against the country musician were made public, Jimmie Allen’s estranged wife Alexis made a plea to fans.

According to a Variety article published on Thursday, Jane Doe, Allen’s former manager, recently filed a lawsuit detailing many incidents in which the country artist reportedly pushed himself onto her and mistreated her over the period of 18 months.

Earlier this week, Alexis, 27, posted a mysterious message on her Instagram story that seemed to be about Allen, 37. After nearly three years of marriage and weeks after announcing their split, she penned, “Continue the chaos while I heal in peace,” adding that they were expecting their third child together.

Billboard shared a Tweet on April 22 and announced Jimmie Allen and his wife split up.

Alexis, who has two daughters with him, Zara James, 18 months, and Naomi Bettie, three years old, continued, “My Instagram isn’t a help line so please stop messaging me about any third parties.”

According to Variety, the Grammy-nominated musician reportedly violated Doe while on a work trip to Los Angeles in March 2021 to record an episode of American Idol. After a business dinner, she allegedly woke up naked in her hotel room bleeding profusely and in excruciating pain, with no memory of what had just happened.

Allen allegedly made her take a Plan B pill to prevent pregnancy. At the same time, she claimed to be a virgin at the time.

Doe also remembered a different incident from May 2021, when Allen appeared on The Ellen DeGeneres Show to promote his children’s book. According to the outlet, he allegedly assaulted her while traveling together the day before the performance.

He allegedly touched her breasts on the plane, pressed his erect penis against her in public, and masturbated in front of her at the hotel where they were both staying, according to her allegations. She claimed that while she was trying to get his hand away after they left the taping and got into the car, he reportedly pressed his fingers into her vagina.

In a statement to PEOPLE in response to the accusations, Allen insisted that his relationship with Doe was consensual. Allen added in the report, “It is deeply troubling and hurtful that someone I counted as one of my closest friends, colleagues, and confidants would make allegations that have no truth to them whatsoever,”

“I acknowledge that we had a sexual relationship — one that lasted for nearly two years. During that time she never once accused me of any wrongdoing, and she spoke of our relationship and friendship as being something she wanted to continue indefinitely,” the statement continued.

“Only after things ended between us, did she hire a lawyer to reach out and ask for money, which leads me to question her motives. The simple fact is, her accusations are not only false, but also extremely damaging. I’ve worked incredibly hard to build my career, and I intend to mount a vigorous defense to her claims and take all other legal action necessary to protect my reputation.”

Allen has had three No. 1 songs throughout his career: “Best Shot,” “Make Me Want To,” and “Freedom Was a Highway” with Brad Paisley. He was the opening act for Carrie Underwood on the Denim & Rhinestones Tour and won the CMA Award for new artist of the Year in 2021.
