MyPillow CEO Gets a Wake-Up Call with $5M Fine in Data Dispute!

MyPillow CEO Mike Lindell has been ordered by a US arbitration panel to pay $5 million to a software programmer for breach of contract in a dispute over data Lindell believes shows China meddled in the 2020 US presidential elections, swinging the result in Joe Biden’s favor.

Mike Lindell stated to The Associated Press on Thursday that he has no intention of making payment and anticipates taking the matter to court. Lindell has been a notable proponent of the myth that former Republican President Donald Trump’s election was stolen by tampering with the voting equipment.

He started the “Prove Mike Wrong Challenge” to support his beliefs, promising a $5 million reward through one of his businesses to anyone who could refute the validity of the “packet captures” and other data he disclosed. The contest was a component of the “Cyber Symposium” that Lindell held in August 2021 in South Falls, South Dakota.

The data from Lindell did not “contain packet data of any kind and do not contain any information related to the November 2020 election,” according to Robert Zeidman’s 15-page report, which he submitted as his response to the challenge.

Zeidman was not crowned the contest winner by the panel of judges, which included Lindell attorneys. So in accordance with the contest regulations, Zeidman moved for arbitration.

The three arbitrators ruled on Wednesday that Lindell must compensate Zeidman $5m following an evidentiary hearing in Minneapolis in January.

“He proved the data Lindell LLC provided, and represented reflected information from the November 2020 election, unequivocally did not reflect November 2020 election data,” the arbitrators wrote. “Failure to pay Mr. Zeidman the $5m prize was a breach of the contract, entitling him to recover.”

The arbitrators mandated Lindell to make good within 30 days. “They clearly saw this as I did — that the data we were given at the symposium was not at all what Mr. Lindell said it was,” Zeidman said in a statement Thursday. “The truth is finally out there.”

Zeidman’s attorney Brian Glasser said the arbitrator’s decision was “another significant moment in the ongoing proof that the 2020 election was legal and valid.” He continued by saying that Lindell’s assertions on the veracity of his data had been “definitively disproved.”

The accusation of Chinese meddling in the 2020 elections was refuted by Lindell, who said that he planned to provide further information in the upcoming weeks or months to support his prior claims. “It’s going to end up in court,” said Lindell. I won’t be paying anything, He provided no proof.

Dominion Voting Systems has already launched a $1.3 billion defamation lawsuit against Lindell in the District of Columbia, alleging that the MyPillow founder wrongly accused the business of manipulating the 2020 presidential election.

He is also the subject of a different defamation action in Minnesota brought by Smartmatic, a foreign manufacturer of voting machines.

A day after Dominion resolved its defamation lawsuit against Fox News for nearly $800 million, Lindell argued that the arbitrators’ decision was unusual and claimed it was an attempt to get him to abandon his campaign against electronic voting machines.

“I’ll spend everything I have to save the country I love,” Lindell said.
