NXT Vs. NXT UK to Be the Same Day as AEW All Out, According to Rumours: On September 4, the same day as AEW’s All Out pay-per-view, WWE is reportedly preparing to conduct an NXT vs. NXT UK supershow.
Wrestling Observer Radio’s Bryan Alvarez (via Subhojeet Mukherjee of Ringside News) claims that WWE has informed some fans that an NXT premium live show is billed as NXT vs. NXT UK will take place on September 4.
When Brandon Thurston of Wrestlenomics (through WrestlingInc’s Sai Mohan) first reported that an NXT show will take place on the same day as All Out last month, he didn’t mention the potential NXT UK tie-in.
NXT UK stars like Gallus, Blair Davenport, and NXT UK champion Tyler Bate were on the broadcast on Tuesday, laying the groundwork for NXT vs. NXT UK.
Davenport approached Indi Hartwell backstage, and Bate assaulted NXT champion Bron Breaker in the ring after Breaker retained his championship against JD McDonagh in the main event. Gallus attacked Diamond Mine and issued a challenge to NXT UK tag team champions, Josh Briggs and Brooks Jensen.
Showdown: NXT vs. NXT UK would be the first of its kind since WWE Worlds Collide in 2020, which also fell on the weekend of the Royal Rumble.
The main event of the evening included a championship match between Imperium and Undisputed Era, featuring performers from both NXT and NXT UK.
Since NXT was canceled this week, it seems likely that Breaker and Bate will be the main attractions.
WWE has not yet announced the event, and the location is unclear, but it seems likely to be in the United Kingdom given that WWE Clash at the Castle will take place in Cardiff, Wales on September 3.
Since AEW All Out will begin at 8 p.m. on September 4, having an NXT event in the UK would allow WWE to host it earlier in the day, avoiding a scheduling problem with AEW.
Since there will be plenty of fallout from the participation of numerous NXT UK talent on this week’s program, it stands to reason that next week’s episode of NXT might be when the show is declared official if WWE doesn’t announce it earlier.
