According to reports, Fellows was behind the wheel of a gold Nissan 240z when he lost control of the car and it rolled and caught fire as he approached the finish line, and bystanders were unable to save Ryan in time. The day following the accident, filming came to a close.
According to a Discovery spokeswoman, “The Street Outlaws family is grieved by the untimely death of Ryan Fellows.” Our hearts go out to Ryan’s family and friends as they cope with his tragic passing.
The news was first reported by TMZ: JJ Da Boss, star of the Discovery Channel’s “Street Outlaws,” and his wife, Tricia, were in a car accident earlier this year while filming an episode. Tricia required medical attention and was admitted to a hospital.
“Ryan was an enthusiastic automobile enthusiast and was a road ‘warrior’ in many ways that extended beyond his likes of basketball, cars, and business in sales/advertising,” it reads on the GoFundMe page set up for Ryan’s family. He had an admirable level of perseverance and a dogged determination to succeed.
Ryan has left behind his wife, Liz, and their children, Josiah and Olivia.
