Even though episode 6 of The Last of Us didn’t have as much action as episode 5, viewers are still worried about Joel (Pedro Pescal) because of the dramatic cliffhanger.
Following the tragic passing of Sam (Keivonn Woodard) and Henry, Joel and Ellie (Bella Ramsey) were reunited in the most recent episode of the HBO series (Lamar Johnson). When they finally reconcile with Tommy, Joel’s brother, their relationship is put to the test even though it is more vital than ever (Gabriel Luna).
After a significant incident, the two continue on their quest. Still, when they finally get at the University of Eastern Colorado, where they are hoping to discover the Fireflies, things start to go wrong. They barely escape alive.
Will Ellie save Joel? Fans are ecstatic that The Last of Us, based on the phenomenally successful games of the same name, has been revived for a second season. Interestingly, Spider-Man director Sam Raimi had planned to turn The Last of Us into a movie, but the circumstances weren’t right.
Speaking to IGN in 2016, the creative director of the game Neil Druckmann, who also took on a leading role in the making of the show, said:
“We had a table read, got the script to a good place and it kind of entered development hell like these things tend to do.”
Raimi also revealed that Druckmann’s vision didn’t match Sony’s. In 2021, Druckmann went into further detail about why the film wasn’t made on the Script Apart podcast:
“When I worked on the movie version, a lot of the thinking and notes were like, ‘how do we make it bigger? How do we make the set pieces bigger?’ I think that’s ultimately why the movie wasn’t made.”

On February 26, 2023, The Last Of Us’s seventh episode will air on HBO and HBO Max in the US. The episode will air on HBO Max at 6 p.m. Pacific Time (9 p.m. Eastern), while HBO will continue to screen the program at 9 p.m. on the west coast.
