Real Madrid has announced that Karim Benzema will leave the club after spending 14 years at the Santiago Bernabeu.
Benzema, who hails from France and is 35 years old, is Real Madrid’s second-all-time leading scorer with 353 goals. He also holds the club record with 25 championships won while playing for Madrid.
The club said in a statement: “Karim Benzema’s career at Real Madrid has been an example of behaviour and professionalism, and has represented the values of our club. Karim Benzema has earned the right to decide his future.”
