Who is Bo Katan's Father in the Mandalorian Season 3?

In episode 2 of The Mandalorian season 3, Bo-Katan Kryze and Mando had an unexpectedly touching moment about their late fathers. In season three of The Mandalorian, Mando has been on a mission to travel to the planet Mandalore after being branded an apostate by the Armorer for taking off his helmet.

However, it soon becomes apparent that he can’t survive the perilous journey alone, leading to Bo-Katan Kryze joining him on the expedition. Bo-Katan reveals that she had previously visited the Mines of Mandalore as a youngster when her father watched over her as she took the Mandalorian Creed at the revered location when the two travelers arrived at their destination.

Who is Bo Katan’s Father in the Mandalorian Season 3?

Adonai Kryze was the father of Bo-Katan. More than ten years before the events of The Phantom Menace, he was the Duke of Mandalore and the head of Clan Kryze.

Adonai was a skilled fighter who perished protecting Mandalore during the Great Clan Wars in 42 BBY (42 years before the Battle of Yavin in A New Hope). One of the many civil conflicts between the Mandalorian clans, the fight was the most catastrophic.

Bo-Katan Discusses Her Father and Being Part of the Mandalorian Royal Family

Bo-Katan aids Mando in finding the Living Waters in the Mines of Mandalore in episode 2 of the third season of the Disney+ series. Bo-Katan takes Din to the mines after saving him from a frightening cyborg, where she starts to talk about her upbringing and being a member of the Mandalorian royal family.

She explains that her father proudly observed her as she spoke the Mandalorian tenets before their subjects while she accepted the Mandalorian Creed in the mines. Mando replies that he would have liked to have known her father and that he sounds like an interesting man.

Bo-Katan quickly corrects him, saying,

“He was a great man. He died defending Mandalore.”

Upon hearing this, Mando is immediately very respectful, offering her a compassionate “This is the way.” Grogu gives Bo-Katan a longing glance as they prepare to go further into the mines, possibly alluding to a deeper bond between her and Mando.

Other Members of Bo-katas’s Family

Bo-Katan has had two more family members, and her father appears in other Star Wars works. The first is Satine Kryze, who succeeded her father as the Duchess of Mandalore after his passing. The Mandalorian civil war resulted in self-destructive casualties.

Thus Satine instituted a pacifist stance and exiled all remaining Mandalorian troops to Concordia’s moon. Her controversial opinions made her a target for various Mandalorian clans during the conflict, leading to the dispatch of two Jedi, Qui-Gon Jinn and Obi-Wan Kenobi, to defend her.

Young Obi-Wan and Satine fell in love at this moment, and their feelings persisted for years before they were reunited during the Clone Wars. The other person associated with the Kryze family is Korkie, the nephew of Bo-Katan and Satine.

He makes multiple appearances in the Clone Wars television series and is depicted as having an especially close relationship with Satine. Since there is no record of a third Kryze family member, Korkie’s existence raises the possibility that there is one.

However, because Korkie resembles the Jedi Knight, some fan theories contend that Korkie is the secret child of Satine and Obi-Wan Kenobi from their earlier love affair.
