The United States Champion Bobby Lashley will compete against Seth “Freakin” Rollins in a title battle that will air on the “WWE Raw” show the following Monday. During Monday’s “Raw” episode, Rollins ran into Lashley backstage and referred to himself as “the face of Monday Night “Raw.”
Lashley didn’t take kindly to those words and said, “He who has the gold is the face of Monday Night “Raw,” Rollins responded by issuing a challenge. Rollins then noted that while Lashley’s title isn’t exactly what he had in mind when he said he would, Lashley endorsed it.
When he defeated Theory at Money in the Bank in June, Lashley captured the United States Championship for the third time in his career. Since then, Lashley has defended the championship against many Red Brand superstars, most recently The Miz and Ciampa.

In the opening moments of Monday’s “Raw,” Seth Rollins entered the ring and declared he had given up on defeating Matt Riddle to pursue championship glory. Since Riddle gave Rollins an RKO when he was on a ladder and cost him the Money In The Bank briefcase, the two have been at odds.
After knocking Riddle out on “Raw” on July 25, Rollins pushed him to the side, effectively removing him from the match the two were supposed to have at SummerSlam. Despite this, Riddle continued to appear on the program, and Rollins made another attack.
Rollins ultimately prevailed in an encounter between the two at Clash At The Castle. Riddle sought to exact revenge on Rollins for his misdeeds.
