Did Adrien Broner Win: He Scores Unanimous Decision Victory In First Fight Since 2021

Adrien Broner overcame Bill Hutchinson at the Casino Miami in South Florida on Friday, making his comeback to the ring a success.

In the 10-round fight, the former WBA super lightweight champion prevailed by majority decision. According to the judges’ scores of 100-90, 99-91, and 99-91, Broner was the clear winner throughout the contest.

A boxing journalist, Dan Rafael, even suggested that perhaps giving Hutchinson one round was excessive.

Broner, a former Floyd Mayweather Jr. protege, has struggled professionally due to numerous legal troubles. His most recent imprisonment was in October 2021 for breaking the terms of his probation by skipping out on a court-ordered alcohol treatment program.

The 33-year-old had not competed since February 20, 2021, when he won a unanimous decision over Jovanie Santiago. He had been inactive for two years after losing to Manny Pacquiao in January 2019.

Last August, Broner was supposed to fight Omar Figueroa Jr., but he canceled the match to concentrate on his mental health.

The most well-known for Hutchinson has faced during his professional career is Broner. The 34-year-old Pittsburgh native had a 20-2-4 career record as of Saturday. He beat Rondale Hubbert unanimously in his most recent match, January 2022.
