How was Corey Davis Early Life?
Corey Damon Davis, who was born in the United States on January 11, 1995, is a wide receiver who once competed in the National Football League (NFL). He played in the NFL for a total of six seasons. He played collegiate football at Western Michigan, where he established himself as the all-time leader in receiving yards for a player in NCAA Division I FBS.
In the 2017 NFL Draft, the Tennessee Titans selected him as the fifth overall pick. After being selected by them, he remained with the team for four seasons before signing with the New York Jets.
Davis, who is the second youngest of seven siblings, received their high school education at Wheaton Warrenville South in Wheaton, Illinois. His older brother Titus Davis, who went on to become the all-time top receiver in touchdowns and yards from scrimmage for Central Michigan University, was his teammate on the varsity when he was a sophomore and he was called up to play with the team. Titus Davis is now retired.
Both players contributed to the Tigers’ flawless 14–0 season in Illinois Class 7A in 2010 when the club won the state championship. Corey ended his senior year with 45 receptions and six receiving touchdowns, both of which were team highs.
During the time that he spent playing football for the Wheaton Rams as a child, he developed a strong bond with the son of Dan Graham, who had previously played for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
At the end of his junior year, he made the decision to move out of the 2-bedroom apartment that he shared with his family and into the home of the Graham family. The Grahams would eventually become Davis’ legal guardians. It was not until the latter part of Davis’s senior year that he was awarded any scholarships. During the first three years of high school, Davis had a difficult time focusing on his studies.
The Grahams decided to invest in a private tutor for their son so that he might improve his grade point average and become eligible for a scholarship from the NCAA. Following his graduation, Davis made a verbal commitment to play collegiate football at Western Michigan University, which was the only school that offered him a Division I scholarship.
