James Blunt skyrocketed to fame after his 2004 album Back to Bedlam was released. The shaggy-haired ex-soldier from Britain scored a major success with “You’re Beautiful,” leaving countless ladies worldwide aching for the passionate romance it portrayed. Seven years later, he wed a lady of nobility named Sofia Wellesley; the couple now has children and lives a secluded life.

“What I will say is that I’m very happy at the moment with Sofia. It takes a strong person to be able to deal with somebody working in music,” In 2013, James shared his thoughts with The Daily Mail. “It’s hard when you’re with somebody and you become embroiled in something just because you were seen standing next to someone else.”

James’s life changed dramatically when the stunning Sofia came into his life. She is the granddaughter of the late Valerian Wellesley, 8th Duke of Wellington, and the daughter of Lord John Henry Wellesley and Lady Corinne Vaes.

Sofia’s family titles have allowed her to mingle with the British elite, such as Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, hence the lengthy name. They were invited to the 2018 royal wedding of Prince Harry and American actress Meghan Markle.

When And Where Did They Get Married?

In the winter of 2013, James and Sofia became engaged. According to Us Weekly, they tied the knot in a low-key ceremony in London on September 5, 2014, and then celebrated with family and friends in a grand manner on September 19.

The venue for the wedding was reportedly Sofia’s mother’s estate, Marsana, which was featured on E! News. They were pictured leaving the grounds in a bronze VW convertible, the top down, the bride glowing in her beautiful long-sleeved lace gown.

While James has many successful works to his name, Sofia also brought many of her own to the union. She earned her law degree from the same distinguished institution as Pippa Middleton attended: Edinburgh University.

Sofia and James’ children are sons, however, the eldest, who was born first, has some very well-known people as godparents. His godfather is Ed Sheeran, and his godmother is the late Carrie Fisher.
