The actress is not married in a formal sense. But Kyla has been seeing Danny “KP” Kirkpatrick for over a decade, and it’s been rumored that they became engaged in 2011. In a 2014 interview with VLAD TV, Kyla revealed that she and Danny were not in a rush to tie the knot.
“We’re going to get married when we feel like it,” the actress said at the time. “I feel like there’s a lot of pressure that people try to put on anybody in relationships, as far as getting married.”
Kyla continued, “I was having a conversation with someone recently, and I reminded them, I said, ‘There’s a lot of pressure that comes with that piece of paper.’ And why not work on your relationship before jumping into all that pressure? I don’t want to get married to get divorced … So right now, we’re good. We’re good where we are.”
Do Kyla And Danny Have Kids?
Lyric is essentially her mother’s twin, as you can see from the numerous Instagram pictures that Kyla and Danny share of their daughters Liyah and Lyric. In 2020, she even decided to dress for Halloween as Penny Proud, her mother’s persona. Just to really put the point home, you know.

Who is Danny?
Danny, also known as KP, was a cast member of Black Ink Crew: Compton, a VH1 reality TV show. Off-screen, he works as a professional tattoo artist and has tattooed a number of well-known Hollywood celebrities, including Nas, Diddy, and Taraji P. Henson.
IAM Compton is the stage name used by Kyla’s boyfriend, who is also a musician. In a Black In Crew: Compton episode, KP talked about how he and Kyla first connected.
“Kyla and I met almost 11 years ago. I had a cousin that was my roommate — I had two female cousins and one of them invited her over,” he explained … “I walked in the house, my cousin introduced us, ‘KP, this is KP.’ She was like, ‘I’m KP.’ Then I went to my room.”
Later, KP had friends around and laughed with one of their buddies who was having too much to drink.
“And she [Kyla] jumped in and was like, ‘You talking all that sh-t I want to see you do it.’ I was like, ‘I can do that.’ And then at that moment, I was like, ‘What I’m getting out of this? But since you calling me out, if I take this shot, you gotta be KP Jr.”
KP continued, “Did it, everybody went crazy, ‘Oh, you jr.” After that we was cool. That’s how we met.”
Who Are Kyla Pratt’s Parents?
Regardless of their current location, they should be proud of their daughter for everything that she has accomplished as an actor. Her father played baseball occasionally and was involved in sports, but he wasn’t a professional athlete. Her mother was a teacher. Her parents are, therefore, accomplished people.
