Matthew Perry’s Siblings, Family Secrets, and Separation

Matthew Perry, the 54-year-old FRIENDS character, died on Saturday, October 28, 2023, leaving his followers in mourning. The actor’s death was announced shortly after authorities discovered his body in a jacuzzi at his Los Angeles home.

Authorities reported that they went to Matthew Perry’s house around 4 p.m. after receiving a call. Police said there was no foul play or drugs involved, but they are still investigating how he drowned.

Matthew Perry wasn’t married, but he had a close relationship with his five step-siblings. On August 19, 1969, he was born in Williamstown, Massachusetts, parents Suzanne Marie Morrison Langford and John Bennett Perry. He was raised in Canada.

Matthew Perry, the actor famous for playing Chandler Bing on FRIENDS, had parents who separated when he was very young. He considered his FRIENDS co-stars his real friends. Even though he had great chemistry with Courteney Cox on the show, he never got married.

Matthew was born in 1969 to his parents, Suzanne and John. But when he was just one year old, his parents got divorced. His mom later married a man named Keith Morrison, and Matthew lived with them in Canada. Even though he’s his parents’ only child, he grew up with four step-siblings from his mom’s second marriage.

Later on, his dad, John, had a child with his second wife, Debbie. So, Matthew has five half-siblings in total. His parents got married in 1981 and had four kids named Caitlin, Emily, Will, and Madeline, and they all grew up with Matthew.

Matthew was born and raised in different parts of Canada, including Toronto, Montreal, and Quebec. His mom worked as a press secretary for a Canadian prime minister, while his dad moved to Los Angeles to become an actor. In fact, his dad had a small role in one episode of Friends.

Matthew’s friends and family are mourning the actor’s tragic death. However, his family has yet to speak out about his death. Warner Bros. also acknowledged the actor’s death and stated that the entire corporation was “devasted” by his passing. According to the statement:

“We are devastated by the passing of our dear friend Matthew Perry. Matthew was an incredibly gifted actor and an indelible part of the Warner Bros. Television Group family.” The statement continued,

“The impact of his comedic genius was felt around the world, and his legacy will live on in the hearts of so many. This is a heartbreaking day, and we send our love to his family, his loved ones, and all of his devoted fans.”

More information on his funeral and memorial services has yet to be released by his family. Social media users have also paid their respects to the late actor, recalling his roles in The Ron Clark Story, The Odd Couple, Go On, and Mr. Sunshine.
