Sherise, Campbell’s wife, posted a picture of her husband on Instagram. She wrote, “My heart is broken. My life and our family’s life is forever changed. Please pray for me and our families as I deal with the loss of my husband.”

According to Massachusetts State Police, Campbell “was visiting Martha’s Vineyard at the time of his passing. President and Mrs. Obama were not present at the residence at the time of the accident.”

Following reports of a missing paddle boarder on Sunday, law authorities started searching the seas surrounding the estate. Divers from the Massachusetts State Police discovered Campbell’s body just after ten in the morning after recovering his remains from the Edgardtown Great Pond.
According to police, his body was discovered “at a depth of approximately eight feet, approximately 100 feet from shore.” The State Police Detective Unit is investigating the fatality for the Cape and Islands District and Edgartown Police.
