Over The Years Jesse Plemons Body Transformation

Jesse Plemons is adept at making significant adjustments, and his physique is no different.

The former Fargo star, who began his career on Friday Night Lights and Breaking Bad before breaking out as a legitimate movie star, was open about putting on weight to play mobster Kevin Weeks in the 2015 film Black Mass.

Plemons claimed to GQ in 2016 that the extra pounds “carried over” to his starring part on Fargo after he played the real-life gangster in the crime movie.

The actor from Power of the Dog was amused by how people reacted to his weight gain. “Everyone’s like, ‘You gained all this weight!’ I was like, ‘No, I’ve been fat for a while now,’” he joked.

He had joked a year before that he had “no clothes [that] fit,” telling The Hollywood Reporter, “I could wear like two pairs of pants and four shirts.”

However, he was “more sympathetic to what women go through” when being body-shamed due to the public’s reaction.

“My God! Men in general are just not held under the same microscope in that way,” The Academy Award candidate admitted in the interview that he and his wife Kirsten Dunst have two sons, Ennis and James.

Dunst, who married Plemons in 2022, has also been candid about experiencing body shaming in public.

The Bring It On actress, who initially gained notoriety with Interview With a Vampire in 1994, said in 2019 to Net-A-Porter’s PorterEdit that being in the spotlight at a young age really helped her handle any critical remarks that eventually came her way.

“The benefit of growing up with [celebrity] is that I have a very healthy perspective of being an actress,”  After giving birth to Ennis, her and Plemons’ oldest kid, in May 2018, the Spider-Man actress spoke, diving into her thoughts on her postpartum body.

“I haven’t worked out once since I had my baby,” she elaborated. “I’m not one of those people who says [affects a funny voice], ‘Ohhh I have to get my abs back.’ I feel like I’ve established myself as an actress.”

Plemons doesn’t appear particularly interested in any comments about his physique either.

The actor recalls sharing his unexpectedly straightforward diet advice with a red carpet reporter after dropping some of the weight he put on shooting Black Mass.

“I had lost a little bit of weight at the Fargo premiere, and I remember this guy asking, like, ‘What’s your secret to losing the weight? Tell us!’” the Love & Death star told GQ in 2016. “I was like, ‘Well, I was eating everything, and then I just stopped eating terrible food.’ It’s not too complicated.”
