The Fast X Director Discusses Including Paul Walker in the Upcoming Movie

The Fast & Furious franchise, which includes nine iterations throughout its ten-year popularity, has been one of the most adored and lucrative in the film industry, in addition to the other original cast members. Paul Walker has also played a significant role in this.

That is why the franchise’s newest director, Louis Leterrier, still incorporated Walker’s character in the upcoming sequel, Fast X—as in the previous installments—explaining that “Brian is very much alive in the Fast & Furious world.”

Walker tragically passed away before the release of Furious 7. Still, with the miracles of CGI and the late actor’s two brothers serving as body doubles throughout filming, Brian has survived the series and is enjoying retirement.

Now that the series is nearing its conclusion, the filmmaker spoke with TotalFilm about his ideas for including Brian in the next sequel. He stated:

“Well, Brian is very much alive in the world of Fast & Furious, and they’ve teased him a lot in the previous movies. In 9, we see the car coming. It’s something that is planned. This movie jumps back and forth between the past and the present. You will see Brian in the past, you won’t see Brian in the present. It’s something that everybody has to be on board with. The Walker family is still very much a part of this franchise, you’ll see how in this movie. It just has to be the right moment, the right tone.”

The director also cited what James Wan did on the franchise’s seventh installment, adding that:

“Brian has to re-enter the franchise as perfectly as he left it.”

Throughout nine movies, Fast & Furious has evolved significantly from its street racing roots in 2001. In the tenth and penultimate chapter, a new family member will be introduced, along with the latest villain who willwreak havoc in the adored franchise.

The series has generated $6.6 billion in revenue since its launch in 2001, making it a significant success. The seventh installment, Furious 7, was the tenth highest-grossing film of all time. Family is the central theme of the Fast & Furious movies, as Vin Diesel’s persona frequently highlights.

Rita Moreno, Brie Larson, and Jason Momoa all make appearances as new characters in Fast X, each having a unique link to the overall plot, so the family (or foes) isn’t getting any smaller.

It’s possible that the following television shows’ casts will pique your attention as well:
