J.P. Arencibia Biography

Jonathan Paul Arencibia was born on January 5, 1986, in Miami, Florida. He used to play baseball in the major leagues and is from a mix of Cuban and American backgrounds. Now, he’s working as a coach for the Syracuse Mets. He played for teams like the Toronto Blue Jays, the Texas Rangers, and the Tampa Bay Rays from 2010 to 2015.

Arencibia went to a high school in Miami called Westminster Christian, where famous baseball players like Alex Rodriguez and Doug Mientkiewicz also went. He was really good at baseball, but he also played football and basketball in school. When he was younger, he played with a team called the Under-18 Florida Bombers.

Some of his teammates from that time, like Mat Latos, Gaby Sánchez, Yonder Alonso, and Jon Jay, also became professional baseball players. He was picked by the Toronto Blue Jays in 2007 to play as a catcher. He liked baseball from high school and kept playing it in college at the University of Tennessee.

He retired from professional baseball in 2017 after playing for the Rangers and the Jays. After retiring, Arencibia stayed connected to baseball by talking about games on TV for Fox Sports Florida. He was even married before. He met Kimberly Perry, who was in a country band called The Band Perry, in 2012.

They got engaged in 2013 and got married in 2014, with famous people like Carrie Underwood and Blake Shelton at their wedding. But they got divorced in 2018 because it was believed that Arencibia was not faithful. This became more apparent after Perry released a song called “The Good Life” a year later.
