After publicly declaring her separation from her husband, Morgan Evans, in August 2022, kelsea Ballerini has since found a new love.
The 2023 CMT Music Awards host has been dating Outer Banks actor Chase Stokes since December. They will co-host the event on April 2, together with Kane Brown.
First, Kelsea said she and Chase were just “vibing,” but earlier this month, the actor revealed they were dating while appearing on Today. Sheinelle Jones, the show’s co-anchor, had said: “For those of you who don’t know, they’re dating.”

A new day, a different tactful method to handle the relationship rumors on a different social media site. This time, Kelsea was the one to share a mysterious TikTok with a screenshot of her and Chase’s information from the celebrity gossip account DeuxMoi.
“I know, I know, I know, I know, I know, I know,” the singer began, with a screenshot that insinuated she and the actor were a PR stunt posted behind her.
“Stop reading, stop reading. Stop looking,” she continued. “But what is happening, guys? What? What? What? No, let’s not do this, you know?” “I’m about to break up with the internet 5 sure 😂” was the caption to the video. 👀

When asked about the photo he uploaded of himself and Kelsea, Chase responded that they “had just been spending some time together” in an interview with People for the Outer Banks season 3 premiere. “Kelsea is a lovely, lovely girl. She’s great. We’re having a good time,” he added.
However, that VERY SAME DAY, Kelsea reposted a comment by someone who had written “@hichasestokes come get your girl” in another vid with a TikTok showing herself sitting in bed while wearing eye patches and sipping out of a teacup. She smiled to the camera and casually leaned over to reveal what appeared to be Chase’s tattooed arm.

“I was ready to open back up,” the singer confessed to host Alex Cooper. “I just felt, why not? I’ve never really dated; I don’t know how it works. I’m like, ‘Let’s just put ourselves out there; let’s just vibe.’ And it’s been fun.”

“And I mean that with all the respect in the world, but his journey is not mine anymore. And so, I hope that he is protected from whatever he needs to be protected from seeing. I hope he has people in his life that help him do that, that is not my job.”

Chase grinned and responded, “Mhm,” formally announcing their relationship when Sheinelle Jones asked him straight up if he was seeing Kelsea Ballerini.
Chase responded like any good S.O. would have done when Jones inquired if he was a fan of Kelsea’s forthcoming SNL appearance and highlighted it. Indeed, who doesn’t like it?
