Criminal Minds Evolution Season 2: Will CBS Series Start Filming in April?

The popular TV show Criminal Minds rose to become one of CBS’ most-watched shows throughout its 15-year existence. The famous crime thriller series’ finale was only a few years ago, but it has already inspired a revival through Paramount+ called Criminal Minds: Evolution.

The FBI’s Behavior Analysis Unit will once more be solving crimes in season 2, having enjoyed the same success and popularity as the first. Paget Brewster, a regular cast member, has confirmed that filming for season 2 will start in two months.

The actress shared the excellent news through her Twitter page, saying:

“Guys, we are coming back so fast it’ll make your head spin. Because of you! We start shooting in 2 months, thank you, thank you, thank you!!”

The season renewal comes from Criminal Minds: Evolution’s success since its debut on Thanksgiving Day, becoming one of Paramount’s most-viewed television shows. The procedural format of Criminal Minds: Evolution was maintained. However, by combining the weekly case tales with a lengthier plot, the show was slightly altered.

The FBI’s elite team of criminal profilers battles the UnSub in the first season of the remake, who have benefited from the pandemic by creating a network of serial killers. Undoubtedly, the criminal profilers were able to find a solution, but not all the issues have been settled.

Criminal Minds: Evolution Season 2 is expected to return with many unresolved concerns for the show. It will undoubtedly ensnare the BAU once more in many riddles and intricate webs.

Jeff Davis, who previously created the 2011 remake of the supernatural adolescent thriller Teen Wolf, made Criminal Minds in 2005. The FBI’s Behavioral Analysis Unit, which uses criminal profiling techniques to find unidentified criminals who have committed a range of crimes, is the main focus of the narrative.

Brewster wasn’t the only original cast member to return to reprise their roles for the Paramount+ reboot; Joe Mantegna as David Rossi, Kirsten Vangsness as Penelope Garcia, Adam Rodriguez as Luke Alvez, A.J. Cook as Jennifer Jareau, and Aisha Tyler as Dr. Tara Lewis also did so.

Elias Volt, portrayed by Zach Gilford, was the most recent criminal mastermind in the series. Erica Messer is back on the project as the showrunner, a writer, and one of the executive producers for the ten-episode revival, which is co-produced by ABC Signature and CBS Studios.

Chris Barbour, Breen Frazier, Glenn Kershaw, and Mark Gordon, and she is the executive producer. Regarding the time being, there are no additional details available for Criminal Minds: Evolution’s second season. On Paramount+, you may stream the first season.

Criminal Minds Evolution Season 2 Release Date

Although a precise start date for filming is still unknown, the production is expected to occur sometime in 2023.

According to reports, the first season was shot from August through December 2022, meaning the crew was still wrapping up the second half of the season when the revival debuted in November of that year.
