Scout Willis Was Overwhelmed When She Heard That Her Dad Bruce Had Dementia
After learning that her father, Bruce Willis, has been diagnosed with frontotemporal dementia, Scout Willis says she feels “overwhelmed” (FTD).
Taking to her Instagram Story late Thursday to update fans on her feelings, Scout shared a selfie wearing a cozy hoodie and wrote:
“Feeling emotionally tired and a bit overwhelmed, yet also very in awe of the love so many people have for my papa.”
Scout, 31, received further encouragement from her sisters Rumer and Tallulah Willis, who reposted her Story on their pages and expressed their gratitude for the outpouring of love.
“Second this Scouter feeling the abundant love for our guy and our family,”
“I third this Scouter and Buusk feeling so deeply grateful and in awe of the love for our sweet Daddio,”
The whole “Die Hard” star’s family, including his ex-wife Demi Moore, issued an united statement on Thursday afternoon outlining the “cruel” diagnosis he had finally got after initially being informed he had aphasia.
“Today there are no treatments for the disease, a reality that we hope can change in the years ahead,”
“As Bruce’s condition advances, we hope that any media attention can be focused on shining a light on this disease that needs far more awareness and research.”
The organization added that Bruce, 67, cannot respond to his predicament but claimed that if he “could,” he would want to thank everyone for their support.
“Bruce has always found joy in life — and has helped everyone he knows to do the same,”
“It has meant the world to see that sense of care echoed back to him and to all of us.”
