Super Mario Bros. Movie is Coming Out Two Days Early
Mario is speeding up the date of his release. The “Super Mario Bros. Movie” from Universal and Illumination will now open in theaters across the globe two days sooner than initially planned, the firm said on Tuesday. Instead of Friday, April 7, the movie’s new release date is Wednesday, April 5.
The Super Mario Bros. Movie will debut in more than 60 locations worldwide, including China, Australia, and France, in addition to its extensive home release. Brazil, Mexico, Germany, Italy, the United Kingdom, and Ireland.
Approximately 10 markets in Southeast Asia, the Middle East, and Eastern Europe will open on various dates in April and May, according to a separate announcement by Universal. On April 28, “The Super Mario Bros. Movie,” which coincides with the Golden Week Holidays, will be released in Japan.
The Super Mario Bros. Movie was first scheduled to premiere on December 21, 2022, but was postponed a few months later to 2023. It was first revealed in September 2021. The renowned Italian plumber is voiced by Chris Pratt in Mario’s debut animated feature.

Anya Taylor-Joy plays Princess Peach, Charlie Day plays Luigi, Jack Black plays Bowser, Keegan-Michael Key plays Toad, Seth Rogen plays Donkey Kong, Fred Armisen plays Cranky Kong, and Kevin Michael Richardson plays Kamek. Sebastian Maniscalco plays Spike in the A-list cast.

From a screenplay by Matthew Fogel (“The LEGO Movie 2: The Second Part,” “Minions: The Rise of Gru”), Aaron Horvath and Michael Jelenic of “Teen Titans Go!” and “Teen Titans Go! To the Movies” fame direct the film. Chris Meledandri, the founder and CEO of Illumination, and Shigeru Miyamoto collaborate to bring “The Super Mario Bros. Movie” to life for Nintendo. Nintendo and Universal Pictures will co-finance the movie.
