Why Black Clover Movie Postponed by Netflix?

The upcoming installment of the franchise, Black Clover: Sword of the Wizard King, has been delayed, according to the official Black Clover Twitter account. Initially slated for release on March 31st, 2023, the film will now be available to foreign audiences on Friday, June 16th of this year.

While Netflix has licensed the upcoming movie for other parts of the world, Japanese fans can still see it in theaters. The official website of Black Clover has also been updated with the postponement announcement.

According to the website, the production holdup brought on by the new coronavirus is the reason for the delay announcement. The staff promised to keep working hard to ensure they continue to give the fans great work, and they further apologized to the fans looking forward to the film.

Fans shouldn’t be surprised that the Black Clover movie is being delayed because the release of several anime series, including Bofuri, The Misfit of Demon King Academy, Kubo Won’t Let Me Be Invisible, Ayakashi Triangle, and Spy Classroom, has recently been impacted by COVID-19.

At this point, fans can only hope the movie doesn’t get delayed further. The first film in the series will be titled Black Clover: Sword of the Wizard King. The Weekly Shonen Jump published an announcement of the movie adaptation in 2021, and in the magazine’s 15th issue, it was revealed that the movie would premiere in 2023.

Minako Seki will handle the music, and Yuki Tabata will serve as the principal supervisor and original character designer. The animated film is being directed by Ayataka Tanemura and produced by Pierrot.

Although the news did not make the fans happy, they generally supported the choice and hoped that things would turn out better than they had anticipated. GIFs depicting shock, depression, and rage were used in several Tweets to express the author’s feelings.

The Wizard Kings of the past must be defeated by two young boys named Asta and Yuno who aspire to be Wizard Kings. Conrad Leto, the previous Wizard King, who was well-respected by the kingdom, started it all when he rebelled against it, leading to his sealing.
