Sadly, Karl’s father took his own life when Karl was just 14 years old. Karl went to Summerfield High School, where he played basketball and led the team to win three consecutive Louisiana Class C titles.

Later, he attended Louisiana Tech University, joining the basketball team in his second year under coach Andy Rosso. Karl Malone’s NBA journey kicked off in 1985 when he was selected 13th overall by the Utah Jazz.

Demetress Bell’s Mom: Gloria Williams

Gloria Williams is Demetress Bell’s mom. She became a mom at the age of 13, and there isn’t a lot of information available about her. Judging by her face, it seems Gloria Williams, Demetress Bell’s mom, might be in her 50s.

Demetress Bell’s Relationship with His Parents

Demetress Bell’s connection with his dad is tricky. His father, Karl, was 20 when Demetress’ mom, Gloria Bell, who was just 13 at the time, got pregnant.

In 1986, Gloria filed a lawsuit to establish Karl as Demetress’ father, but Karl initially didn’t acknowledge him. So, Demetress was raised by his mom alone.

Gloria asked the court for $200 a week in child support from Karl, a wealthy NBA player. The court settled on $125 per week, but Karl said he couldn’t afford it and eventually made a private agreement with Gloria.
