Sammy Guevara and Tay Melo Share Their Wonderful Baby News!

Sammy Guevara just competed in the most excellent match of his career, and the wrestler said that before entering the squared circle, he was terrified—but it was almost entirely unrelated to his essential title match.

Nope … Sammy says he was scared to deαth to announce he and his wife, fellow AEW star Tay Melo, were expecting their first baby!!

If you missed it, Guevara and Melo made a dramatic entrance last Sunday at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas before his Double or Nothing championship battle, using cue cards to announce the impending arrival of their first child.

Sammy and Tay joined us on the “TMZ Sports” TV show, which airs weekdays on FS1, where Guevara revealed the couple wanted to tell the fans they were expecting a baby creatively. They proposed doing it before his historic match against Maxwell Jacob Friedman, Darby Allin, Jack Darby, and the champ in the main event.

“I was personally more excited for the entrance,” Guevara said. “I feel like we were like opposite. She was more nervous for me for the match, and I was more nervous, excited for the entrance.”

Since the duo hasn’t always been a public favorite, Guevara says he wasn’t sure how fans would react to the news. He also admits that he almost became distracted while thinking about the sh0cking revelation in the ring.

“I had to snap out of it,” Sammy said. “I almost started crying. It was just very surreal. Us four young guys, wrestling for the world title and then right before that, going out there and announcing we’re having a baby.”

“The crowd’s coming back around on me,” Sammy said. “We were not always the most loved people out there. For them to give us that big reaction. Everyone’s happy, showing us love. It was overwhelming in a way where I was like, ok, we gotta get back into it.”

When it comes to Tay, she says she’s looking forward to traveling with Sammy while she’s out of the picture, but she also says she loves wrestling and wants to go back in the ring as soon as possible.
