Britney Spears Reunites With Mother Lynne Spears: ‘Time Heals All Wounds’
After three years of turmoil, Britney Spears and her mother, Lynne Spears, are mending their mother-daughter relationship.
The pop star shared on Instagram that she had a visit from her “sweet mama” on Wednesday, their first encounter since she was released from her conservatorship in 2021.
“My sweet mama showed up at my doorstep yesterday after three years. It’s been such a long time,” Britney Spears wrote on Instagram. “With family there’s always things that need to be worked out but time heals all wounds! And after being able to communicate what I’ve held in for an extremely long time, I feel so blessed we were able to try to make things right.”

She continued: “I’m so blessed we can have coffee together after 14 years !!! Let’s go shopping afterward.”
Spears has been candid about her strained relationships with various parts of her family, including her father, Jamie Spears, who acted as her conservator for a while, and her sister, Jamie Lynn Spears, who engaged in a heated social media dispute with the singer in 2022.
When Lynne Spears became worried about her daughter’s well-being in 2019, she retained attorneys and incurred over $650,000 in legal fees before the termination of the conservatorship. A while later, she withdrew the petition.
Britney Spears revealed her family problems in a September Instagram post, in which she claimed her relatives “have no conscious whatsoever” and denied ever having done anything wrong. Lynne Spears apologized to her daughter online and asked for the two of them to talk again.

Seven months after the conservatorship ended, Spears wed Sam Asghari. Her mother did not attend the event but left a comment on some of the wedding images, wishing the couple well.
“You look radiant and so happy!” Lynne also wrote. “Your wedding is the ‘Dream’ wedding! And having it at your home makes it so sentimental and special!”
The mother of three said, “I am soooo happy for you! I love you!”
